Forming an identity can be just as hard online as it can be in the real world, if not harder. The ability to hide behind aliases, create new identities, and overall anonymity. This sense of invincibility toys with what people would do in reality versus what they do online, which is why online there are much, much more fights online than there are in reality. Aside from fighting, online anonymity also gives people a chance to be something they're not, an alter-ego, if you will, a chance to escape from the problems of everyday life.

On Stardoll, disregarding fighting and focusing more on character development, users tend to go through what can be classified as 'phases' leading up to what one wants to portray themselves as in the online community. I, for example, went through various phases including Goth, wanna-be-Chic, Victorian, and Andrej Pejic inspired, when trying to identify with various communities within Stardoll itself until finally finding my 'home' or group I identify most with other developing Bloggers online. These 'phases' are typically the users attempt to feel comfortable with themselves and get footing within the new group, even if it is not what they would usually identify themselves with by choice, or in reality.

Another factor in the development of 'phases' is the attempt to not only fit in, but to assist in developing ones self in reality as well. Stardoll, much like Blogger, serves as a platform to allow users to broadcast thoughts and ideas that would normally not be acceptable in everyday society where they are, or simply that the views being expressed would not be ones they could portray safely or with confidence to the people around them in real life. Also, Stardoll can allow users to release emotions or urges without having to execute these ideas out in real life, for example, you would not see someone dressed like me below in real life walking around the streets every day. Stardoll allows me release my desire to dress like a lunatic online instead of having to publicly embarrass myself.

With whatever you do online and on Stardoll, remember that it does affect you, the real you. Alter-egos on Stardoll can be used to see the other people through a different lens. One take on a mean personality when in reality, one is an incredibly kind person. The ability to change who you are, and what you do with only the click of a button really defines who we are.

John Lennon inspired circular sunglasses are one of the many raging, hot, Summer trends. These glasses can instantly chic up an outfit, or look great while simply lounging at the beach. Try using them also when an air of mysterious elegance is a must within an outfit.

Chic up an outfit quick and easy by simply adding these circular sunglasses to an otherwise drab outfit. If at a loss for chic, try pairing together a pair of feminine corked heels, short, preppy shorts, with a menswear inspired collared shirt and cardigan.

Going grunge or punk? Try pairing the shades with a zip miniskirt, a deconstructed top, and a pair of chunky boots for a rugged look.

Fashion doesn't stop for sun and sand on the beach. Add a chunky day tote and easy jewelry with slip on flats for a day in the water with protective, circular sunglasses.

Whatever way you decide to wear these iconic glasses, remember, have fun with your fashion!

Ranging from vivid yellow tone of Solar Power to the smooth and neutral Sandalwood, spring of 2012 has an diverse range of colors coming it's way. Girly, feminine pastel shades like Mint and Baby Blue subtly appear on the runways in young blouses and skirts. Layered neutrals in colors such as the beige Starfish and lightly purple tinted Driftwood show off the chic and refined side of fashion while brighter, optimistic colors like Cabaret's hot pink tones and the calming hue of Bellflower add the spark of life to our everyday lives. The front-leading color for 2012 is in the vibrant category and is slowly seeping its way into fashion through dresses and coats, Tangerine Tango is just the refreshing color we all need for the year ahead.
